In this "strange" summer we decided to be tourists in our city. We already knew Castel Sant'Angelo in broad strokes, but thanks to our guide Valeria we came to know very interesting and engaging facts and anecdotes. We got confirmation that no matter how much you can equip yourself with paper guides or do online research, however visiting a place with a knowledgeable, trained and passionate guide makes the experience more complete. By the end of the Castel Sant'Angelo tour-having experienced her extraordinary knowledge about every aspect of the site and, indeed, of Rome itself-we all thought she should have an academic degree in the arts or Italian history. Fun and attentive, but most importantly, if you want to have an in-depth discussion on topics such as Michelangelo's poetry, the artillery pieces of medieval armies, or the private lives of some popes, you should try hiring her and you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this tour! Gianluca, our guide was wonderful, warm, informative and introduced us to delicious typical Roman food, off the beaten tourist track. The history of the Roman Jewish community, there for several hundred years BC and their particular cuisine was especially fascinating (and delicious!).
Excellent, just brilliant. A last minute reservation (on the plane on the way to Rome) showed no availability for the Vatican and we began to worry that we would not be able to go. After almost purchasing something else, we opted for Doooing Experience for a private tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.
The tour was very pleasant! My boyfriend and I had a private tour and the guide was very friendly. She explained everything very good, informative and personal. She knew a lot of little facts and took enough time to tell you all about the Vatican History. If you are looking for a VIP-treatment, look no further!
